Mrs. Mary “Molly" Aloia, daughter of Tom and Molly Kelly was born on January 21st, 1934 in Irvington, New Jersey. She attended high school at Our Lady Of The Valley in Orange, New Jersey. She graduated college from Saint Joseph’s Nursing school in Patterson, NJ. She was a beloved nurse for over 50 years at Overlook Hospital, Summit NJ, and Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield NJ and finished her career at The Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains.
Molly was married to her husband Paul Aloia on May 18th, 1957 at Saint Leo’s Church in Irvington. They moved to Westfield in 1959, after the birth of their twin sons Paul and John Aloia in 1958. Molly and Paul welcomed the birth of their first daughter Kathleen (Bauer) in March of 1959 and Mary (Dombrowski) in October of 1964. The family was an active member of Saint Helens Church in Westfield, NJ.
Molly was blessed with seven grandchildren, Andy, Tony, Kelly, Shannon, Allison, Tara and Lea. Molly and Paul enjoyed traveling and volunteering for many organizations in the Westfield area. They continued to serve others after leaving Westfield and moving to Toms River, NJ in 2010.
Molly is survived by her husband Paul Aloia of 61 years, her four children and seven grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters. Kathleen Weirdo of Brick, NJ and Maureen Smith of WestWildwood, NJ. All that knew Molly loved her for her passion for helping others and her dedication to Saint Helens. She will be greatly missed by her husband, family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Haven Hospice Hackensack Meridian Health at JFK. 65 James Street. Edison, NJ 08820. Visitation will take place this Friday November 9th from 4:00-8:00 at Dooley Colonial Funeral Home in Westfield. The service will take place Saturday November 10th at 10:00am at Saint Helen’s Church in Westfield.
