Westfield - Salvatore Petruccelli, 71, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at his home in Westfield on Tuesday, January 1, 2019. Born in Cisterna, Italy to Giuseppe and Giuseppina Petruccelli, he came to the United States in 1973, settling in Westfield.
Salvatore worked for Beckley Perforating Company in Garwood, and he was the head custodian at Washington School in Westfield for many years before retiring. When he wasn’t working, Sal loved making wine to share with family and friends, and he enjoyed tending to his beautiful garden.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Maria Petruccelli, who died in 1993. Surviving are his wife, Vincenza Petruccelli; his children, Cristina Sorrell and her husband, Kevin, and Joseph Petruccelli; his cherished grandchildren, Luca and Julian; his brothers, Michele and Lucio; his sisters, Girolama and Giovanna; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Ave., Westfield on Friday from 4-8PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Westfield. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
