Jason Richard Hay, 24, known to his friends as Jay Hay, passed away suddenly on August 10th, 2019. Jason grew up in Garwood and went to Arthur L. Johnson High School. Jason was known to be a kind, young man who knew how to crack a joke or two.
Jason had a true love of sports, especially baseball, where he played as a pitcher for many years and into High School. He was always known as a top athlete. His talent for switch hitting was something rarely seen in the game. Unfortunately, a shoulder injury ended his time with the sport that he loved so much. He always routed on the Yankees, Giants, Knicks, NJ Devils and his beloved Duke.
Jason is survived by his loving parents, John and Coleen Hay, along with his sister, Kaeley Hay, and his precious niece, Lana Belle. He also leaves behind his loving Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and numerous Cousins. He will be deeply missed by his loving family.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday August, 24th from 11 am -1 pm with a service held at 1 pm at Dooley Colonial Home located at 556 Westfield Ave, Westfield NJ 07090. In honor of our Son, please dress casually in shorts, t-shirts, sporting team shirts, etc., as he would have liked that.
In Lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to an organization near and dear to his heart, The Garwood Baseball League, PO Box 115 Garwood, NJ 07027.
