Albin F. Blom Jr., 73, passed away suddenly on Monday, November 4th, 2019 at his home in Scotch Plains. Raised in Cedar Grove, he has been a resident of Scotch Plains since 1978.

He was a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. While he was there his mission was to train the South Vietnamese Army Officers for which he earned a Bronze Star. After returning from the war Al finished up his Bachelor’s Degree in Business at Susquehanna University. He started working for Dun and Bradstreet as a salesmen. During his tenure at Dun and Bradstreet he met his future wife, Marilyn Mannino. They spent the last 44 years together. Al and Marilyn enjoyed going to the Jersey Shore, particularly Avalon, NJ in their free time.
He is predeceased by his parents Albin F. Blom, Sr and Mary.
Al is survived by his wife, Marilyn and her family, in addition to his first cousin, Margaret Iles.
A memorial visitation will be held at The Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Ave., Westfield on Saturday, November 9th from 11am to 1230 pm with a service beginning at 1230pm. Private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.
